Eric is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at EGL with more than 10 years’ experience in geotechnical earthquake engineering. Eric’s experience is in the practical assessment of seismic hazard and site response effects including liquefaction, cyclic softening and ground and embankment displacements for infrastructure projects. Eric is a Young Professional Member of NZSOLD, however, his career is already notable having worked on infrastructure loss estimation projects for flood and earthquake hazards for 23 Councils in New Zealand, natural hazards options and cost-benefit assessment for the Franz Josef Township, the seismic design of the geomembrane liner and crest raising for Stuart Macaskill Lakes in Wellington and scoping and design for a number of hydro, irrigation and wind power projects across New Zealand. Eric’s practical application has benefited from having seen first-hand earthquake damage to land and slopes associated with recent historical earthquakes. Currently, Eric is part of the team which looks after the water and waste storage facilities at the Waihi, Reefton and Macraes Gold Projects in New Zealand.
